He leads consulting services for companies and agencies in issues such as free competition, regulatory and tariff-setting processes, negotiations, arbitrations and commercial litigation. Quantitative analysis, market and demand projections, financial analysis and project analysis are also included in his practice areas.
In Chile, he is consulted by companies in the main economic industries including energy, manufacturing, transportation and communications, infrastructure and construction, commerce, financial and natural resources. Similarly, he provides assistance to mid-sized Chilean companies in the development of mergers and acquisitions and financial restructuring.
In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of several companies in Chile. In 2011, he was appointed by the President of Chile to be part of CADE (Comisión Asesora presidencial para el Desarrollo Eléctrico), the Presidential Consulting Committee for Electricity Development. He has also been a World Bank and IDB consultant and professor in national and foreign universities. He has published in Chile and abroad.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University (1991) and a Business Administration degree from the Universidad de Chile, with majors in Econometrics, Macroeconomics and Industrial Organization (1984).
